Karin and Joy Gunderson, a mother-daughter musical duo known as Heavenly Harp, will play harp duets, sing together and add occasional flute accompaniment. Karin will also relate inspiring stories from her work as a harpist for hospice.

Karin Gunderson From an early age, Karin's life has been filled with music and faith. A graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, she is an accomplished vocalist, harpist, pianist and flutist. Her musical career has included work as a public school music teacher, a private music instructor, a church musician, and a performer. Singing songs of faith is her passion, and she has performed as a vocal soloist in concert halls and churches alike.
Karin serves as a harp practitioner in hospice facilities and is fondly known as the "singing harpist." Karin is a chaplain with the International Ministerial Fellowship.
Joy Gunderson Joy is 18 years old, and loves music. She sings, and plays the harp, piano, and flute. From age eight thru high school, Joy studied harp with Dr. Suzanne Balderston, a widely known and well-respected harpist, composer and teacher. Joy has performed in concerts, and concert tours, weddings, fundraisers, and for various formal and informal gatherings. She was a member of the Phoenix Youth Symphony Organization for seven years and has been a finalist in Youth Symphony Concerto competitions and the Desert Musicfest Competition. Joy also sang in All State Choir and Jazz Choir and the ACDA Western States Honors Choir.
At St. Olaf College Joy earned the highest academic and music scholarships. She had the honor of being chosen to be the St. Olaf Orchestra harpist. She plays in the harp ensemble, studies harp with Kathy Kienzel, Minnesota Orchestra harpist, and sings in choir. She will be studying harp, organ, voice and piano as part of her church music major.
