Pivetta Duo

The award winning Pivetta Duo returns to the Sibyl Center for a classical and jazz performance with a community-wide time of fellowship to follow.

The duo consists of married partners Debra Reuter-Pivetta and Federico Pivetta, award-winning musicians for solo and collaborative performances.

Pivetta DuoStanding ovations across the United States reflect the enthusiasm the public shows for the Pivetta Duo, and in Italy the critics claim: "This was, without any doubt, one of the best concerts ever organized by the association 'G.B. Maffioletti'."

Their critically acclaimed CD entitled Passion and Romance has aired frequently on public radio stations. They are past winners of the Concert Artists Guild New York Competition, winning the Community Concerts Performance Prize.

Debra Reuter-Pivetta is the principal flutist with the Greensboro (NC) Symphony Orchestra and the flute instructor at Salem College. Hailed for her technical skill and interpretational understanding, she enjoys a diverse career as soloist, chamber artist, orchestral player, and teacher. Honors include top prizes in numerous competitions including the Louise D. McMahon International Music Competition, the National Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition and 1999 Concert Artists Guild Competition.

Ms. Reuter-Pivetta has performed as concerto soloist with many orchestras including the International Music Program Orchestra, the Western Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, the Lawton (OK) Philharmonic, the Winston-Salem Symphony, and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.

Federico Pivetta, a versatile pianist with a unique mastery of classical and jazz styles, earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the North Carolina School of the Arts. An active accompanist, chamber musician and teacher, he has made numerous recital appearances with his wife Debra. His collaborations with various jazz groups have resulted in radio and television appearances and recording projects. Mr. Pivetta maintains a private teaching studio. While Federico’s accomplishments are many, he considers being a cancer survivor to be his greatest achievement.

The Pivettas are active volunteers with the Meals on Wheels Association of America, the oldest and largest organization in the United States representing those who provide meal services to people in need. Both Debra and Federico enjoy cycling as part of their fitness and well being.

A community pot-luck meal follows their afternoon performance.
