VocalPoint

VocalPoint, an "a cappella" quartet, is comprised of Mary, Paul, Brad, and Kathy, four friends who met through singing barbershop-style harmony. VocalPoint provides entertainment in a variety of styles such as SATB, gospel, classical, patriotic and, of course, close harmonies in the barbershop style.

VocalPoint has entertained in several barbershop shows in Minot and Bismarck, sung the national anthem at a Wizard's game, participated at the "Gospel Sing" at Shiloh School in Bismarck, and continues to perform for local groups and events such as the Kiwanis and Elks, electric cooperatives, churches, senior complexes, schools, the North Dakota State Fair, and cancer and other fund-raising events.

Mary Stumpf, soprano and tenor, is a daughter of barbershop harmony and from a musical family. Mary is recently married, taught music in Scranton and presently teaches K-6 music at Christ The King Catholic School in Mandan. Mary and Allen reside in Mandan which is her hometown.

Kathy Wolff—alto, lead and baritone—has directed two choruses, the Sweet Adeline Barbershop Chorus and the Northern Lights Barbershop Chorus. She also coaches choruses and quartets and now with the combination of male and female voices in VocalPoint feels she has the best of all musical worlds. Originally from Van Hook/New Town, Kathy and Harvey presently reside in Bismarck.

Paul Gurholt—lead, tenor and baritone—owns and operates Gurholt Construction and is a well-known homebuilder in Bismarck and surrounding area. Originally from Wisconsin, Paul has resided in Ryder and Watford City. Paul and Marcia reside in Bismarck.

Brad Heinzer, bass, recently retired from Basin Electric as a mechanical engineer at the Antelope Valley Station in Beulah. Brad taught music in Granville and Hazen before getting his engineering degree. Originally from Mandan, Brad and Nancy reside in Hazen.
