Guitar Reflections: An evening with John Wayland Harr, classical guitarist-composer. His classical interpretations, arrangements of popular songs and original compositions bring a fresh perspective to the instrument. The Bismarck Tribune described his stage presence: "When he plays, he looks sometimes like he's deep in prayer, head bowed." In addition to an exciting music program, he also offers insightful and entertaining commentary to the stories behind the music. Harr is a South Dakota native now living and teaching elementary music in NW Oregon. He last performed at the Sibyl Center in 2008. |

Marlene and Friends: Marlene Jensen Hoirup, graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, New York City, and professional pianist and teacher, is an alumnus of Stanley High School. She has appeared as soloist and chamber musician throughout Germany and the United States. Marlene's program includes classical favorites, especially Chopin, performed in celebration of his bi-centennial. Don Hoirup, baritone, and Jane Paulson, clarinet, join Marlene in this musical adventure. |
