Erik and Dianna Anderson

The Anderson DuoDianna and Erik Anderson, piano and cello duo, have been playing music together for the last 17 years, quite literally from their first date when they met as undergraduates at the University of Idaho. They each earned doctoral degrees at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and now serve on the music faculty at Minot State University.

Since moving to Minot in 2003, the Andersons have taught, performed on stages and in classrooms and judged festivals.

Dianna will present the 32 Sonatas of Beethoven in a series of recitals over the next decade. Erik soloed with two North Dakota symphonies during the 2008-09 season, performing the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1 in Minot and the Brahms Double Concerto in Grand Forks. They plan several solo and joint programs for the coming academic year.

Along with violinist Dr. Jon Rumney, the Andersons formed the piano trio Luminus in 2004 and have given more than 100 performances around the region, often speaking to and interacting with high school audiences. Their trio forms the core faculty for Dakota Chamber Music, a string and piano chamber music festival held each June on the campus of Minot State University.

The Andersons live in Minot with their four sons.

There is a suggested donation of $5 at the door.
