The Sunrise Brass performed Saturday, September 20
| The Sunrise Brass was formed in 1987 to play a few tunes at a wedding of a member's daughter. At the time, none knew that this would be an ongoing entity with great musical experiences both for audiences and for the group itself.
Sunrise Brass started with a repertoire of about six tunes. Now they have more than 120 selections ranging from early baroque to popular, swing, ragtime, patriotic and marches. The group has performed for weddings, banquets, concerts in the park, church services and conventions throughout eastern Montana and western North Dakota.
Present members are Scott Dornfeld and Ken Bergenheier, trumpet; Barb Olson, French horn; Howard Hunke, trombone; and Mark Halvorson, tuba. All but Halvorson are original members.
The Sunrise Brass takes its name from Sidney, Montana, also known as The Sunrise City.
