Marlene Jensen Hoirup, a Stanley native and SHS alumni, is the daughter of the late Dr. Edward and Florence Jensen. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and the Juilliard School of Music, New York City, with post-graduate studies at the Hoch Schule für Musik in Frankfurt, Germany.
She has taught at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, Salem College, Winston-Salem, and now teaches at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, where she is also organist at the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany.
Marlene has performed throughout the United States and Germany and has also performed for several radio broadcasts including the Voice of America representing North Dakota.
