Sibyl Center

Merrill Piepkorn
returns to Stanley on July 3rd to reprise his 2004 performance at the Sibyl Center. Merrill is the brother of longtime Stanley resident, Lee Piepkorn, and the son of Herman and Olga Piepkorn who farmed in Alger Township south of town until moving to Fargo in 1958.

Although Merrill has lived in North Dakota’s biggest city since then, his heart is still in the western part of the state. In addition to hosting a daily statewide talk show on North Dakota Public Radio, he continues to entertain folks with his music, stories and good humor at banquets, conventions, other special events and an occasional honky tonk!

Speaking of honky tonks, it is rumored that 'Honky Tonk' Hoirup will be along again this year to accompany Merrill on the piano. Piepkorn’s longtime friend from Williston, Tim Ritter will join Merrill for several songs and the 'Fabulous Singing Piepkorn Sisters' are hard at work rehearsing a couple of special numbers for the show too.

World-class fiddler, Loy Larson has also agreed to come to Stanley for what is shaping up to be a terrific show. Piepkorn promises a fast-moving evening of music and fun that all ages will enjoy.
